My work is based on compositions that emerge from the handmade fabrics I create, beginning with either colored or white fabrics. Experimentation with printing and folding techniques are the inspiration for my work. Some of the work is collaged, while some is created on one piece of fabric. If the compositions are layered, threads and hand or machine stitching add another element to tie the piece together. The emphasis is always on strong composition and reflects the spontaneous, improvisational manner in which they were created.
