The Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge provides a protected winter home for many migratory birds. In the cool dusk of the winter afternoons, the sandhill cranes can be seen and heard as they feed in the slough. I love to visit often and enjoy the ever-changing warm sunsets as the colors dance across the water. The air is cool and crisp, and the sounds of the cranes envelope me. |
